Heating and plumbing industry directors sought for Trustmark Board

Trustmark, the government-endorsed scheme for all trades in and around the home, are currently recruiting two new board representatives from the heating and plumbing industry.

The Board always maintains that an equal balance of trade and non-trade interests are represented, and their latest recruitment drive aims to find a trade director to support Trustmark’s innovation and new product development, along with a non-trade director experienced in consumer empowerment and protection.

Directors are elected for a three year term, meet six times per year to discuss and implement important initiatives, and receive a small annual remuneration for their services.

They’ll additionally attend around four Forum meetings each year and may also get involved in working groups or other areas of the business as required.

TrustMark chairman Liz Male said: “After a transformation of several years which has radically improved TrustMark, its governance, operations and relationships, we are ready to make the next big step in our plans, and we’re looking for visionary and determined leaders to join the Board to shape this exciting future.

“TrustMark was relaunched by the Consumer Minister last year with an updated set of standards – the Government Endorsed Standards which cover good trading practices, customer service and technical competence.

“This year we see the introduction of important new consumer protection legislation, and the opportunity to support a new Government in its work to empower homeowners and grow the success of responsible businesses. There’s never been a better time to be at the helm of a scheme like this.”

The deadline for applications is the 18th of May 2015, so if you’re a plumbing and heating professional interested in joining the TrustMark Board, apply quickly.
